Colin Will's Vincent Special
In Australia Colin Will has a very special Vincent engined racer. Colin
was having a problem trying to find an ignition system that would fire the
methanol mixture in his modified Vincent engine. We supplied
Colin with one of our BT-H magnetos to get the beast going. Colin
recently emailed us to say:
Hi Tony,
Just got back from the Southern Classic .... won it again ..... getting a bit
boring now ... fantastic result. Won all the races except for the first.
I had Stuart Lolly ride it and he has never ridden a British classic let alone a
British bike. He rides a P5 Suzuki normally so everything is completely
different on the bikes. He was second on pole .. amazing but in the first
race missed a gear and actually stalled the bike in the esses, had to restart
and still came second. After that he focused and was just a blur ..... he
took three seconds off Clive's best time after only riding it for about 1/2 an
hour.
Best race was when three bikes went into the first corner and he just rode
around them on the outside and took off...........same for every other race.
Most satisfying part was beating Peter Guest on Kens Norvin 4 times by at least
300 metres on even terms.......that was one reason I bought the Corish Vincent
so I am pretty pleased with the result.
Colin
Here
are photographs of the missile on its way to another win. More
about the bike.
