Parts List for a Vincent Fixed Magneto Drive Wheel

The list of parts below is required to assemble a fixed fibre gear timing pinion.
It is available from the Vincent Owners Club Spares Company.
(I have this kit fitted to my "B" Rapide and it appears to fit nicely and be well made.  Webmaster)

Parts needed:-

E54 Magneto pinion nut. (self extracting)

ET222/1 Drive dog BT-H

ET223/1 (pinion boss, steel)

ET48 (fibre pinion)

4 x 617 (BA screws)

4 x 1021 (lock washers)

You may also need:

ET222 (Steel rev counter drive dog instead of  ET222/1 if you have a rev counter.)

These are available via VOCSC and are made by Maughan.  Do not accept the Alloy type of Boss ET232/1.

N.B.  The BT-H magneto uses a standard taper so pinion boss ET237/1 can’t be used as this is for a Lucas distributor with a parallel spindle.

Refer to chapter 19 of “Know thy Beast” which shows a pinion assembly for a rev counter drive. A similar system needs to be acquired without the rev counter drive.

bulletSuppressors may be fitted without detriment to the unit.
bulletUse a good washer under the head of the Allen bolt. If not it MAY foul on the timing gear and in any event the Allen head will  “bury” itself into the body of the magneto, which is not good.
