Dear Maxine & Peter,
Just a quick note to let you know that the Magdyno arrived safely today & has already been fitted, my bike started 3rd kick. Since adjusting the throttle stop r & pilot screws it starts 1st kick. Very happy!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!!!! FWIW the bike is “Asbo 39” a highly tuned 350cc Royal Enfield Model G. Did I say thank you? Yep, well chuffed! I’m still in awe how simple it was to set up; I keep going outside, prodding the kickstarter & voila! Instant start! This time last week I could barely walk thanks to some vicious kickbacks & leaping up & down like an idiot trying to start the bugger. Today I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat
Best regards

Hi, Peter, Maxine
Your BTH-Magneto has arrived and I had made a short test-run this afternoon. Starts first kick. I could rev only to 5000 rpm, because 4 degrees Celsius and rainy weather, it was not possible to warm up engine to optimum temp, but first impression is very good! Very responsive to the Throttle, it didn`t miss a single beat.... The appearance is original-looking, the quality/material/precision is on a high standard. Thank you for your good product and service.
Herzliche Grüße

Hello Peter,
I just wanted to give some feedback on the magneto you returned last week: Bike starts perfectly & all is good. Thanks for the good job and quick turn around time. I do appreciate.

A few years ago, you sent me an electronic Magneto to suit my Flat Twin Harley Davidson which I finally fitted. what a transformation, I can now start the motor first kick cold or hot which then made it easy to set up the carburetor. it is now a pleasure to ride the bike. Those who ask how it is now? well, it’s a reliable runner and I point out the BTH Magneto.
The 1920 model w Harley Davidson My father bought in 1930 and rode it through to about 1946-7 when tyre and chain used to pay for a service on grain header, motor then used in Swing saw but would over heat. We started restoration in 1980. The Story was covered in the OLD BIKE AUSTRALIASIA ISSUE 49, JAN 2015
Thank you

Peter,
The BTH unit arrived safely today; very well packaged to go along with the great customer service and outstanding communication practices. All is very much appreciated. Not that you likely need any more reference sources, but if the day arrives, you may certainly count on me for very good words.
Cheers!

Hi Peter
In the words of Tina Turner 'your magneto's are simply the best' after having rewired my old mag which lasted all but 6 months, I bit the bullet and brought one of your spacking new electronics ones, with easy fitting and starting first kick every time it has transformed my life. Now I actually enjoy riding my bike. Thanks to you and Maxine for a terrific product and exceptional service.

"Hello Peter, I just got around to installing your BTH Magneto in my Matchless G80CS 500 single. All I can say is WOW!!! You can take the elusive electric start conversion for Matchless singles and fuhgeddaboudit!!! It started 1st lazy kick and idled beautifully like never before with the anemic Lucas Competition Magneto it had. Problem is that the only boat mooring that it would be good for is a toy boat. The bike feels like it has quite a bit of power more than before. In all honesty before was a few years. (4 years to be exact) ago. There are some other things to be sorted out on this machine. There always are in British classic bikes. But at least it starts easily and my friend that was helping me was astonished that it took so little to fire it up.
Thank you for providing the British bike enthusiast with a new lease on life. I mean that because at 72 my knees are not what they used to be and kicking one of those reluctant hot start bikes over and over again is just not possible. Also, the cardiac arrest incidence is greatly diminished. Do you get it that I'm extremely happy with your product? Your Satisfied Customer."

"Hello Peter, Thank you very much for this quick and professional help. It took all in all, 7 days to get my 2005 magneto, back fully repaired to Germany. I operated the magneto on a Norton international M 30 in racing configuration for about 7 years without any failing. It always started at the first kick without back kick. And there was really much more power over the complete RPM range. Before this I had a mechanical Lucas magneto on the bike; it was a nightmare, despite the Lucas magneto was overhauled several times, and I spent a lot more money on it, than the price of your magneto.
My life became easy when I met the guy on a Vincent Rapide during a race and he used your magneto and was happy as I am now. Thank you once again for the nice contact. I am looking forward to get in contact again. Best wishes for you."

"Dear Sir/Madam. Just for your information, I was given the bike on the day I was born, the bike has sat absolutely stationary, and never been started for the last 40 years, last week I took the tank and carbs off, cleaned those out, changed the oil and today I took the old mag off and within just over an hour had your electronic ignition on it and all timed, all exceptionally easy !, then after 6 kicks she started and ran almost perfectly, I must have missed a bit of dirt in the carb or the pipes, as it’s not perfect, but after 40 years sitting I thought and expected a lot more work. Once again thank you for the advice you gave me when I bought it, and the quality of the product – more English companies could learn a lot from your company. Many Thanks."

"Velo fitted one of your excellent Magnetos to my Venom in January of this year. I would have written to you earlier but as it rained for most of February, I have only been able to take the out for some serious road testing in the past couple of weeks.
First things first. The new Magneto was very straightforward to fit (if you discount the fiendish way Velocette attach their Magnetos to begin with, the need for doubly articulated fingers and a spanner which Salvador Dali would have been proud to own!). The interesting part was in finding somewhere to mount the HT connector. As I wanted the Venom to look as standard as possible, I decided to locate it behind the battery box (pictures attached). After making a small mounting bracket out of aluminum strip and relieving the back of the battery box (picture attached) it mounted very neatly, out of sight on the rear battery strap.
Timing the ignition with the new Magneto was so easy that once completed (5 minutes) I was left with this strange feeling that I must have left something out or be doing something wrong - no cigarette papers, no requirement for three arms, or two sets of eyes, and no profane language - wow! how will it ever catch on?
The Venom started with the first kick and has done so every single time since!!! Hot or cold, one swing on the kick starter now brings it thudding into life. As Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) might have said "It's been emotional". I can now actually don all of my bike gear BEFORE I start the bike.
Riding - The bike is now much smoother, pulls more strongly and revs much more freely than it did before. I still have some adjustments to make to the fueling (I think the vastly improved ignition now allows other issues to show up more than they did previously) but it is a real treat to ride.
I have spent a good deal of money on restoring my 1959 Venom but I can honestly say that the money I paid for the new Magneto was the best £600.00 I have spent on the bike (actually on any bike!). I would recommend it as a 'must have' purchase to anyone.
Thank you for your excellent service and wonderful product, absolutely fabulous. Kindest Regards. P.S. Good day Maxine and Peter, the new BTH mag has arrived. It looks beautiful! I will send you a photo when the Bob Hansen replica dirt track racer is finished. Laurence Hartley built Hansen’s motor. Also here is a photo of my Ariel VCH road racer ready to go. Take care."

"Hi Peter, The BTH magneto for twins arrived with excellent packing and clear, concise instructions for fitting. It looks bulkier than the Lucas K2F but the flange fitted the 3 existing mounting studs and there was room for the bottom extended nut to work too - a great relief. The magneto did not foul the motor at any position in the flange adjustment slots.
It all went together in a very satisfying way. The wiring, CDI unit and HT coils came assembled and fitted my 1962 BSA Super Rocket perfectly. The 6 mm locking rod is genius and torquing up the timing pinion has never been so easy. The bike started on the second kick. There is more bottom-end grunt and it will now go up hills on 98 octane fuel without pinking - a brilliant result.
An unexpected bonus is the threaded blank hole on top that takes the manual advance/retard cable. The handlebar lever and cable are now redundant but their retention maintains the original look of the machine. The BTH K2F magneto will ensure this BSA continues to give pleasure for years to come.
Thanks Peter and Maxine. You have a very happy customer in NZ! Best regards."

"Hello Peter and Maxine, thank you for the FM1R electronic ignition which is now fitted to my Venom. Installation was easy and the slight difference in the body and flange from the Lucas K1F makes it much easier to get spanners in there without removing either chain case or barrel and bits of knuckle. By the way, a simple rectangular bracket fitted to the head-steady lug on the frame places the coil neatly above the battery in an air flow while allowing the LT wiring to be easily concealed and the HT to reach comfortably.
Cold starting was never a problem with the Lucas K1F but hot starting was a constant nightmare. I am pleased to say that, whether hot or cold, staring now takes no more than two kicks-bliss! I've also been able to fit a tacho at long last having got rid of the Vellocette/Lucas auto-advance/retard pinion which I am convinced was responsible for my hot starting problems. Thank you once again - Kind regards."

"Hi Peter, I've fitted the mag with no issues. Struggled with brackets under the tank so used cable ties all very secure. Reset tappets while tank off. Fired up first kick and ran like a dream, sounds so much better, partly due to using the correct tappet clearance, I’ve had to adjust a few things that aren't right since I bought the bike. Done about 50 miles on her and awesome. Pulls hard, ticks over and doesn't pink anymore. What a cracking product. Many Thanks."

"Hi Peter, Thought I'd let you know that I've just fitted the mag on the Vello, wow! started first time and continues to run with ease, I can even start it with my dodgy hip. The Vello now is a joy to ride. Thank you for the great product and the great service."

"Dear All at BTH, I just wanted to let you know that kick starting my 998cc Vincent is now an absolute pleasure with a BT-H electronic magneto - I now have easy access to "the road" once more. Your after-sales support has been excellent and I cannot recommend your company and your product highly enough."

"Thanks for building a great product! My son got two seconds at AHRMA New Orleans in March and two more at Barber Motorsport Park last weekend in AHRMA Cass C. We run a 1951 Ariel VHA made into a VCH Replica, using HS cam, piston, and followers. I build the motors. Love my PMIR. Thank you again."

"My PM1R arrived today, well packed and speedy service. The mag looks great I can't wait to fit it to my bike. Thank you, guys.
Brought some time ago you made me a 60-degree mag for my 11-50 Superior. As it was a configuration you had not made before I thought I'd let you know I started the bike tonight, second kick. I will hopefully take the bike for a run this weekend. Thank you for your help. All the best."

"Hi Peter, just wanted to get back to you ref fitting of the bth mag to my 1951 vincent comet - took me a couple of goes to time it right in the end settling for 3/8 of an inch before tdc. my bike now starts and runs like a dream and has become a bike i can go out on and enjoy rather than a frustrating static display that caused me asthma attacks trying to get it going! I am really chuffed thanks so much."

"I frequently put self-generating electronic ignition 'mags' in place of the old and very tired magnetos simply because it means my bike is a better starter and runs more reliable."

"Peter, Many Thanks, received the new mag and my 61 Bonneville is running better than ever. I’m already preaching the BTH over here in Oz, I was actually put on to you guys from a speedway friend of mine that uses your mags in his supercharge Vincent speedway bike. He has run them on all of his bikes for years. Kind Regards."

"I would have no problems recommending the K1F to any Velo owner, the build quality is excellent, performance is reliable, installation is easy and timing is a doddle. Many thanks and best regards."
Dave W - (10/07/14)
"Hi Peter/Maxine, Thanks for the opportunity to test one of your K1F Magnetos on my Vellocette Venom. The installation is pretty much fool proof and so much easier than the standard Mag with ATD. I am fortunate that I have a timing gear with vernier adjustment and that makes installation and timing even easier but even with the standard timing gear timing should be straightforward. Since fitting the mag earlier this year I have done around 1,000 miles, 7036 of them over the weekend, 5th-6th of July 14 and the engine ran faultlessly throughout and was a joy to ride, starting was never a problem and the performance as good as you could get from any bike of its age."
"Hi Peter & Maxine, A quick e-mail to let you know that I received and fitted the MD1R to my '45 Triumph 3HW, WOW! it has transformed the bike from being propelled by 17 asthmatic 70 year old Shetland ponies into a bike propelled by 17 Shire horses. For six months I had tried to get the bike running smoothly with moderate success, what a waste of time that now seems. My advice to anybody either restoring a bike or struggling with ignition problems, is sell the magneto you have to some stuck in the mud grey beard who thinks the original magneto is wonderful, buy a BTH system, they not only look right but transforms performance. Regards."
